Fabric Cuts

Fat quarters, fat eighths, charm packs, jelly rolls and more! If you're curious about the sizes of some of the specialty cuts available throughout our fabric shop, check out our guide below.

Fat Sixteenth     9" x 11"
Fat Eighth  9" x 22"
Fat Quarter 18" x 22"
Charm Pack 5" squares (typically 42 squares per pack)
Jelly Roll 2 ½" x 44" (typically 40 strips per roll)
Layer Cake 10" squares (typically 42 squares per cake)

Now, the sizes listed above are pretty standard and well-accepted sizes -- but there are always exceptions. Those measurements for fat sixteenths, fat eighths and fat quarters are based on a typical 44/45" wide piece of fabric. Some of our bolts of fabric are only 42/43" wide, and as such, the sizes will be a little bit smaller than what's listed in the table above. We do our best to make note on the listing when the cut is a little bit smaller, even though these smaller cuts are still true fats.

And that's the low down on those specialty fabric cuts! :-)
