Sew Balanced

Oh balance...where art thou? I tend to get frustrated when I can't spend enough quality bonding time with my sewing machine. Nagging, non-fun, nirvana-busting tasks around the house abound. For instance, do I change all the furnace filters and weed the flower beds today--or stitch some fun black bats for my fall wreath? I know what I want to do, but cranky Ms. Responsible steps in and vetoes creativity. Again. If you're in the same pickle, check out the encouraging quotes below and share your own comments and ideas with us!  (Your e-mail address will not be visible.)

Really, I don't dislike to cook, but what you cook is eaten so quickly. When you sew, you have something that will last to show for your efforts. -Elizabeth Travis Johnson

The only place where housework comes before needlework is in the dictionary. -Mary Kurtz

Just like a sewing machine, I must learn to carefully set the tension in my life.  It takes time to discover a smooth and even balance which maintains an inner fiber strong enough to endure life's unplanned stresses without becoming raveled. -Jan Keller
